DECA's Schedule

DECA's Weekly Schedules

  • Week of January 19th we will have 4 Instructional days (Tuesday - Friday) due to the MLK Holiday.
  • The bell schedule will be our traditional 90-minute, four block format.
  • Week of January 25th, we will return to our regular schedule of 4 Instructional Days and 1 Enrichment/Support/Counseling Day schedule (see attachment)
  • We will have class for 90 minutes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. 
  • Wednesday's schedule will allow teachers to hold small group help, enrichment activities, student conferences and more.  
  • Wednesdays will also be utilized by counselors for instructional and other supports.

On Wed., Jan 6th - the Posse Foundation honored its 52 scholarship recipients from the metro Atlanta area. We are thrilled to announce that Jovita Bell and Christina Brown are Posse Scholars for 2021! These dynamic young women are the first scholars ever in DECA's history to earn these prestigious scholarships. Congratulations to you both!  We are so proud. Christina will make such an impact at Bard College and Brandeis University is lucky to have Jovita join their Fall '21 incoming class. 

DeKalb Regional Science and Engineering Virtual Fair

Science Fair
While worldwide events have been cancelled due to Covid-19, DCSD's future scientists and engineers will “Defy the Odds and Create Endless Possibilities” this school year by participating in the virtual DeKalb Regional Science and Engineering Fair. During this premier event, students will have an opportunity to apply science and engineering skills by designing and constructing solutions and models to solve authentic, relevant, and real-world problems. This competitive learning experience will cultivate opportunities for students to become inspired to explore careers in science, engineering, or related fields.   

The DeKalb Regional Science & Engineering Fair is scheduled to take place virtually from February 1-6, 2021.

Internet HotSpot

If your family is having difficulties with internet connectivity, your family may be able to acquire an internet HotSpot from the DeKalb County School District. To begin the process, please complete the attached User Agreement form, and send it to Assistant Principal Costa. The User Agreement is required prior to the issuing of a device. The User Agreement is also available in multiple languages upon request.
